The Youth Development Series (YDS) events attracts fencers with mixed abilities from novice fencers attending their first competition to Scottish and British Youth champions. The majority of Scottish & GBR cadet and Junior fencers start their competitive journey at YDS events.

ALL profits from the Foundation or Scottish Fencing events are used to fund grants to purchase fencing kit for not for profit clubs, schools/universities to enable and encourage participation in youth fencing in Scotland.

Format

One-two rounds of poules followed by Direct elimination (DE). All DE places are fenced for at YDS events subject to entry numbers and number of referees.

Covid event protocols will be confirmed nearer the time, but likely to be only registered coaches allowed piste side during the poules, and one supporter piste side during DEs due to available piste side space, however there is plenty of space outwith piste side to view the action during poules and DEs.

Any questions direct message or email F4SF@ymail.com

Eligibility

Competitors must have a full competitive membership of Scottish Fencing which is valid on the day they are competing.

They must be a UK resident and eligible to fence for Scotland.

There is one exception - if someone is not eligible to fence for Scotland but is under 18, resident in Scotland and attends a Scottish school they can enter. One example of this would be someone with settled status. This exception does not apply to those under the age of 18 who board at Scottish schools. They can only enter if they are also eligible to fence for Scotland.
